Intentional Hiring
Today 1 in 4 children are being raised in single mother homes (US Census Bureau, 2019), and 59% of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) households with children were single mother households (USDA, 2018).
We believe when single moms are employed in work they love, everyone wins.
In partnership with Emerge Mothers Academy, we offer training/hiring events for single moms three times per year at the Center for Belonging in South Minneapolis.
The ARROW Process
Prepare
Emerge Mothers Academy is a Twin Cities nonprofit that provides work prep for single moms including career direction, resume writing and interview prep, and soft skills training.
Launch
Moms that have been through Emerge Mothers Academy's work prep program attend a training session followed by a mini job fair with 3-5 staffing agencies.
Grow
Open to all women, ARROW Networking events aim to provide a space where women of all backgrounds feel welcome to learn, network, and grow professionally.
